Accreditation & Awards

Highlands Christian Schools [K-12] are registered with the State of California.

Accreditation:
Highlands Christian Schools are accredited with the following associations:

Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Since 1981
The ACSI is one of the largest accrediting organizations for Christian schools, colleges and universities. It represents 1,200,000 students and 50,000 teachers in over 100 countries. Highlands Christian Schools are proud to be included with the Christian Schools that meet the rigorous standards for accreditation by ACSI.

Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Since 1981
WASC is one of six (6) regional institutions that accredits colleges and universities, public and private schools in the United States. WASC accredits schools such as the University of California System, Stanford University and the University of San Francisco, as well as some public and private high schools who meet the stringent criteria.

Special Awards:

In 1990 Highlands Christian Schools was awarded the San Mateo Times Award for “Best Private School in San Mateo County.” That category was discontinued in 1991 and thereafter.

In 2000 Church of the Highlands was awarded the “Most Attractive Industrial / Commercial Property 2000 Beautification Award” by the City of San Bruno.

In 2001 Superintendent Vernita Sheley was recognized as “The Woman of Distinction” by the California State Legislature.

In June 2007 Mrs. Natalie Ayres was awarded the Norm Mackenzie "Rookie" Athletic Director of the Year from the California State Athletic Director Association.
